Magic Mirror

Ahoy!  I could use a bottle o' rum if you have any to spare.  I just got back from travels to a far away land where I laid my eyes on the most peculiar of things.  A mirror that could let you see anywhere in the world, with on the click of a mouse and an 12 digit number.

Introducing....

Crossloop, the best gift to IT guys everywhere.  In a few words it is a secure way of connecting to and controlling a computer just like if you were sitting in front of it.  This makes troubleshooting problems over the phone way easier.  If you have any problems with any of the cool things on this blog send me an e-mail and I can get you set up lickity split using Crossloop.  So on to how this thing works.

First, head on over to http://www.crossloop.com . Once you get there look in the top right for the download link and select it.

On the next page pick the free version.

The final download link is on the top right

Lastly, click Save (near the bottom right).

After the file is downloaded click on it again in Chrome at the bottom and it will give you a security warning that will pop up and ask you to Run it or Cancel.  Click on Run and then choose English.  If you have an older version installed already it will ask you uninstall it, choose yes.  Otherwise you should see

Click Next, then next again

Click Next

Click Next one more time

Then choose Install.  After a minute or so you'll see this

Congrats!  Now it's installed and you can be on your merry way.  But wait a sec, now that you have it installed how do you use it?  3 quick easy steps.

Step 1:

Run the program by going to your Desktop and click on the Crossloop link.

It may ask you to register but just click on the "Skip" button on the bottom right.  After that you should see the program with two tabs, one that says "Access" and one that says "Share"

Step 2:

Click on Share

Step 3:

Tell me, or whoever is using Crossloop on the other side the number, we type it in the Access tab and then both people click Connect.  In a minute or so you will see a window pop up and ask if you want to let the other person control your screen, say Yes and your problem will be solved in no time.
